The North Peak team is augmented by the firm’s Advisory Committee, a group of seasoned healthcare executives. The Advisory Committee provides the firm and its portfolio companies with access to significant and specific management expertise.

Michael Kahan.   Partner, North Peak Capital.  Mr. Kahan founded North Peak Capital in 2005. He led the firm's investment in DentalCare Partners and is on the company's Board of Directors. Prior to North Peak, he was most recently a Director at Onex Corporation, a Canadian private equity firm with approximately $5 billion of capital under management.  At Onex, he focused on healthcare investments, and was involved with investing nearly $500 million of equity capital. Prior to joining Onex, Mr. Kahan was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company.  He received an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics, magna cum laude, from Harvard University.

Mayer Rosenzweig.   Partner, North Peak Capital. Mr. Rosenzweig joined North Peak Capital in 2008 and focuses on investments in the education sector.  Prior to North Peak, Mr. Rosenzweig was most recently at Citi Private Equity (“CPE”), a private equity group within Citigroup managing a $3.3 billion private equity fund and a $700 million mezzanine debt fund.  While at CPE he spent a significant portion of his time focused on education investments and was directly involved in investing approximately $600 million of equity capital.  Prior to joining CPE, Mr. Rosenzweig was an investment banker in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Salomon Smith Barney.  He received an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics, summa cum laude, from York University in Toronto, Canada.

Advisory Committee

Robert Baumgartner.   Chairman and CEO, Center for Diagnostic Imaging. CDI is a leading provider of diagnostic imaging services.  Prior to joining CDI, Mr. Baumgartner held positions of CEO and Director of American Coating International, President and CEO of First Solar, President of Apogee Auto Glass Group, and other executive positions.  Mr. Baumgartner holds a BBA from Notre Dame and is a CPA.

David Garner.  President and CEO, ClientLogic. ClientLogic is a provider of customer care, fulfillment, and marketing services.  Mr. Garner manages all ClientLogic operations and is responsible for directing the company’s strategic growth and expansion. Mr. Garner joined ClientLogic after serving as President and CEO of SHPS, a provider of disease management and outsourced employee benefit administrative services. Prior to founding SHPS, Mr. Garner accumulated 14 years of key leadership experience at Sykes. Mr. Garner is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University.

Ralph Gronefeld.  President, and CEO, Res-Care. Res-Care (NASDAQ: RSCR) is a leading provider of support services to populations with special needs, operating residential homes for the adult mentally retarded / developmentally disabled population, and offering programs for job training and for troubled youths.  Mr. Gronefeld has also served as Res-Care’s Chief Financial Officer and the President of the Division for Persons with Disabilities.

Robert Haft. Principal Manager, Morgan Noble. In addition to running his healthcare investment business, Morgan Noble, Mr. Haft is also chairman of National Pharmacies Group LLC, a position he has held since December 2001. Previously, he was President and CEO of Phar-Mor, a national drug chain. Prior thereto, he was president of Dart Group. In addition, Mr. Haft founded four companies including Crown Books, Trak Auto, Vitamin Superstore, and Morgan Noble.

Bobby Le Blanc.  Managing Director, Onex Corporation. Onex Corporation is a Canadian private equity firm with approximately $5 billion of capital under management. Prior to joining Onex in 1999, Mr. Le Blanc was with Berkshire Hathaway. He also worked at GE Capital in a variety of positions, including corporate finance and corporate strategy. Mr. Le Blanc is a Director of Magellan Health Services, Emergency Medical Services Corporation, Res-Care, Center for Diagnostic Imaging, Skilled Healthcare Group, Inc., The Warranty Group, Inc., Cypress Insurance, First Berkshire Hathaway Life and Connecticut Children's Medical Center. He received an MBA from New York University and his BS from Bucknell.

Rene Lerer, MD.  Chairman and CEO, Magellan Health Services. Magellan (NASDAQ: MLGN) is the largest behavioral managed care organization in the US, representing approximately 60 million lives. Prior to joining Magellan, Dr. Lerer co-founded Internet HealthCare Group, an early stage healthcare technology venture fund, and served as its president. Prior to IHCG, Dr. Lerer was employed by Prudential Healthcare as its COO. Prior thereto, Dr. Lerer was employed by Value Health, a New York Stock Exchange listed specialty managed healthcare company. Dr. Lerer is a Director of Magellan, Internet Healthcare Group, Digital Insurance and RealMed.

Bill McBride.  Professional Board Member. Mr. McBride is currently a Director of AMERIGROUP (NYSE: AGP), Magellan Health Services (NASDAQ: MGLN), VistaCare (NASDAQ: VSTA), Evolution Benefits, and Women's Health USA.  Prior to his retirement, Mr. McBride served as president and COO of Value Health, overseeing all operational activities of the company and its subsidiaries. Prior to his tenure at Value Health, Mr. McBride spent 15 years in a variety of positions with CIGNA, and its predecessor INA, including serving as president and CEO of CIGNA Healthplan. 

William Sanger.   Chairman and CEO, Emergency Medical Services Corp. Emergency Medical Services Corp. (NYSE: EMS) is the parent company for American Medical Response and EmCare.American Medical Response is the leading provider of ambulance transport services in the US. EmCare is the leading provider of outsourced emergency department staffing and management services to hospitals in the US.   Prior to becoming CEO of EMS, Mr. Sanger was co-founder and President of PhyMatrix Corporation, a publicly traded health services company. Mr. Sanger has also led multi-system hospitals, including ambulatory care, post-acute services (nursing homes), physician management companies, freestanding diagnostic and treatment centers, and insurance entities.  Mr. Sanger has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Steve Shulman.   Managing Partner at Shulman Ventures. Mr. Shulman is the former CEO of Magellan Health Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: MGLN). Prior to Magellan, he led Prudential Healthcare through its major turnaround while serving as the company's chairman, president and CEO, culminating in the company's sale to Aetna. He is the co-founder of Value Health, Inc., a NYSE managed care company specializing in behavioral health and prescription drug benefits. He also co-founded Internet HealthCare Group, an early stage health and technology venture fund. He serves as the Chairman of CareCentrix and Magellan, and as a Director of Digital Insurance, HealthMarkets and HealthPlan Holdings.
